Sailability New England is a not-for-profit volunteer-based branch of Sailability NSW and embraces recreational, therapeutic, and competitive activities. Sailing is one of very few sports in which able-bodied and disabled sailors participate on equal terms. Sailability New England operates on the Loch Malpas dam Armidale. This has proved to be a very successful venue with a lot of interest and support for our activities.
Our fleet of uniquely designed one and two-seater yachts are a safe, stable, and easy to sail craft that can’t tip over and can be used by people of all ages and ability. Our recreational program helps enable residents of the New England – Armidale region to develop skills and experience the independence and exhilaration of sailing – with us, they develop friendships and build self-confidence and pride through their achievements in a safe and secure environment.

Volunteers: You don’t have to be a sailor to be a volunteer, landlubbers are most welcome too. Some of our volunteers are disabled themselves. Those with a current first aid certificate or a power boat licence are like gold to us.
Because we are working with disabled people – adults and children – all volunteers must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 unless they have a valid medical exemption and obtain a Working with Children Check.
To join Sailability New England all you do is pay an annual membership fee of $
